COMMUNITY SCENIC PROJECT / Co-Curator

Through the meeting and reflection on dance and physical theater, Escena pública reminds us and emphasizes that access to culture is a citizen right that belongs to everyone, regardless of age, gender, origin or social status. #Escenapública was for areas of Mexico City, where the population has little access to meet, enjoy and learn from certain artistic manifestations. Thus, for this project, a curatorship was proposed to expand the range of scenic coexistence -from African dance, hip hop, physical theater, contemporary dance, capoeira and ballroom dancing- and learning, enjoyment and integration dynamics, through the approach with local agents -neighborhood committees, parish priests, mouth to mouthzonal invitation- and during #Escenapública, a spatial distribution of both chairs and the stage that favors greater integration of artists and the public, the delivery of various workshops within the scenic space for the same artists that were presented, as well as open questions and answers sessions with the audience at the end of each presentation. The result was a space of enjoyment and community encounter.

#Escenapública was held in public squares of the Delegations Gustavo A. Madero, Tlalpan and Xochimilco.

This project was curated in collaboration with artist Tania Solomonoff.
