OCTOPIA / Coreógrafa_Activación colectiva

Octopia un proyecto desarrollado para el Museo Tamayo por el artista argentino Eduardo Navarro (1979)  es el resultado de una investigación del pulpo, un animal cuya inteligencia deriva del complejo sistema nervioso que se extiende por sus tentáculos.

Navarro aborda cada proyecto como un nuevo estudio de caso que le permite investigar formas de pensamiento y expresiones ajenas a la percepción humana, y trabaja con el profundo interés de indagar cómo otros organismos y elementos piensan, sienten y perciben

Para poder activar colectivamente este proyecto, convocamos a 80 bailarines y aficionados al baile con el fin de generar una estructura que se asemejara a un pulpo, con una cabeza operada por ocho personas y nueve personas más extendiéndose con cada tentáculo. Al reunir a estos participantes se buscaba una transformación colectiva para tomar temporalmente el estado de este animal mediante una exploración de movimiento y sensibilidad corporal.

Para la realización de Octopia se contó también con la colaboración de la coreógrafa Andrea Chirinos.

OCTOPIA / Coreographer_Collective Activation

Octopia, a project developed for the Museo Tamayo by the artist Eduardo Navarro, is the result of an investigation of the octopus, an animal whose intelligence derives from the complex nervous system that extends through its tentacles.

Navarro approaches each project as a new case study that allows him to investigate ways of thinking and expressions alien to human perception, and works with the deep interest of investigating how other organisms and elements think, feel and perceive

For activating this project, we counted on the participation of 80 dancers and dance fans – in order to generate a structure that resembled an octopus, with a head operated by eight people and nine more people extending with each tentacle. By bringing these participants together, a collective transformation was sought to temporarily take the status of this animal through an exploration of movement and body sensitivity.

The choreographer Andrea Chirinos also collaborated to carry out Octopia.
