EGC ¡OTRA VEZ! / Directora de proyecto en México

El Gran Continental es un proyecto que une a voluntarios de diversas edades y procedencias que de manera festiva e incluyente, celebran el energético y unificador poder social de la danza. Esta coreografía masiva que mezcla la danza contemporánea y el line dancing, fue originalmente concebida en Montreal, Canadá, por Sylvain Émard danse para voluntarios locales. El Gran Continental ¡Otra vez! tiene la misma estructura espacial, pero se inspira en ritmos latinos y la sabrosa manera de moverse del mexicano.

Durante casi 3 meses, ciudadanos de diversas generaciones  y procedencias urbanas aleatorias, hacen un espacio de tiempo para encontrarse, compartir el placer de bailar juntos y explorar otros posibles lenguajes del cuerpo distintos a su forma cotidiana de moverse. Así, colectivamente, se ejerce la inclusión, convivencia y aceptación de corporalidades, realidades y visiones del mundo diversas. 

EGC se presentó en México por primera vez en el 2011 en el marco del FMX (Festival de México en el Centro Histórico, ahora Festival del Centro Histórico) reuniendo a más de 100 voluntarios.

En el 2013, gracias al apoyo del Estímulo a a la producción de Danza Nacional (EPRODANZA), se repitió la experiencia ¡Otra vez! con 150 voluntarios en 3 plazas públicas de la Ciudad de México, en esta ocasión, la participación de los voluntarios se extendió a un blog donde plasmaron la vivencia de su proceso.

EGC ¡OTRA VEZ! / Project Director in Mexico 

El Gran Continental  is a project that unites volunteers of various ages and backgrounds that in a festive and inclusive way, celebrate the unifying and social power of dance. This massive choreography that blends contemporary dance and line dancing, was originally conceived in Montreal, Canada, by Sylvain Émard danse for local volunteers. El Gran Continental has the same spatial structure but is inspired by latin rhythms and the delicious way that the mexicans move.

For nearly three months, citizens of different generations and random urban backgrounds, make a space of time to meet, share the pleasure of dancing together and explore other possible body language different from their everyday way of moving. Thus, collectively, is exercised the inclusion, acceptance and coexistence of  diverse corporalities, realities and world views.

EGC was performed in Mexico for the first time in 2011 under the FMX (Festival of Mexico in the Historic Center, now Festival of the Historic Center) bringing together more than 100 volunteers.

In 2013, with the support of the Stimulus to the production of National Dance  (EPRODANZA), the experience was repeated again! with 150 volunteerss in 3 public places in Mexico city, this time, the participation of the volunteers extended to a blog where they shared the experience of their process.
